Assassin’s Creed Mirage delivers on its promise to return to the franchise’s roots. It’s built around the three core principles of the original game and given it a modern flair. Along with more footage, the latest Assassin’s Creed will be secretly released on October 12th, 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC and Amazon Luna. Here’s what was revealed at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023.
Originally announced in 2022, Assassin’s Creed Mirage follows the story of Basim some two decades earlier Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In the trailer, we’re back in the desert, chasing human prey through the merchant-lined streets. Stealth, parkour and assassinations rule here. Haystacks and high dives had their time to shine, along with various slashes, stabs and slices.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage The focus is on Baghdad, with the city divided into four districts. Rarely will we leave its stone walls, but we can if we make our way to the Hidden’s headquarters in Alamut. While most of the trailer showcases all of the different assassination attempts you can use to end your target’s life, it also showcases plenty of parkour. Rooftops and the paths connected to them will again imprint themselves deeply in our memories and act like a second home away from Alamut.
Mirage recalls a time when Assassin’s Creed was a young series. Now, with the new technological advances combined with these classic principles, we can see how awesome jumping up onto a target is or how seamlessly Basim can disappear in a haystack.
As we get closer to the October 12 release date, more story information is sure to be revealed. Stay tuned for more news and trailers.
