Counterstrike 2 on console would be a fantastic development for fans of competitive shooters. Considering the options, a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S platform release would make the most sense for Valve’s tactical FPS, especially considering this CS2 is an update too CS:GOwith updated graphics and effects and new mechanics in the Source 2 engine.
While swapping a mouse and keyboard for a controller would do anyone counterstrike Die-hards grind their teeth and shake their fists, CS2 could perform well and compete with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S call of Duty and (hehe) battlefield.
Will Counter Strike 2 come to PS5?
So will Counterstrike 2 release on PS5? From March 22, 2023, the day of CS2 Announcement, there are no plans to release Counterstrike 2 on PlayStation 5 – or any PlayStation platform.
Will CS2 be on Xbox Series X|S?
Unfortunately, the same is true for Xbox platforms when it comes to CS2. As of March 22, 2023, there are no plans for Counterstrike 2 on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One.
Valve has officially confirmed this Counterstrike 2 will be released on PC sometime in summer 2023. That’s it. The company also hasn’t announced a firm release date. While there could be a PS5 or Xbox series announcement at some point in the future, the chances are relatively slim based on what we know.
Although CS2 is the first new release in the counterstrike Franchise in 10 years that is influential and popular CS: Go was never released on PS4 or Xbox One consoles, only appearing on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.
It’s possible that Valve has been waiting for the rework all this time counterstrike with CS2 and releasing it on the latest generation of consoles, but nothing is confirmed on that front yet. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will either have to move to PC or wait for more information in the future. Stay tuned.
