Destiny 2 Activities are Getting More Difficult and Hopefully More Rewarding

Bungie can’t seem to help it, as another blog post is forthcoming detailing significant system changes incidence of light Extension. This time we took a detailed look at how destiny 2 It’s becoming increasingly difficult to accommodate the greatly increased power of our Guardians after the Subclass 3.0 updates. There’s a lot to do, and while the exact numbers are a bit too detailed to cover, we’re going to talk about the most important parts.

Difficulty changes for Destiny 2 in Lightfall

At a base level, most high-level content gets an in-game difficulty increase thanks to a power level cap. Adept difficulty, the lowest increase, goes away entirely, allowing Nightfall and other customizable hero-level challenges to start at the 1770 power threshold, 20 above the soft cap.

The Legend and Master/Grandmaster difficulties will be 1830 and 1840, respectively, and the game will cap player power and scale down to compensate. In other words, Guardians will always be at least five power levels below the activity threshold, with a massive 25 gp drop.

One of the other big changes is the removal of Singes, which increases incoming and outgoing damage across the board. In their place, we get Surges and Threats. A surge increases elemental damage by 25% and a threat increases damage taken. Higher difficulty activities also have a rotating overloaded weapon type that deals 25% more damage. However, ÜberCharges and Surge do not stack.

Fighters are also harder to stagger, so a headshot, for example, won’t immediately stagger an enemy. You also have more health.

Many adjustments will also be made to the central playlist of Vanguard Ops. The long-awaited strike scoring system returns, with higher scores at the end of an activity earning more reputation.

Both the Arms Dealer and Lake of Shadows strikes have been updated to compare with newer content, and the Inverted Spire and Exodus Crash Strikes will look the same. Until they are recreated, they are much less likely to be selected from the playlist. Finally, the PsiOps and Heist battlegrounds will be added to Vanguard Ops for more variety.

Additionally, Nightfall Strikes, Raids, Dungeons, Lost Sectors, Weekly Story Missions, and many other activities will receive the Surge, Threat, and Overcharge mechanics and the various power limiting values where applicable. These updates will also make their way into the Lightfall year seasonal battlegrounds.

See Bungie’s official post if you want a complete overview of all data. There will be a host of other changes including skill updates, PvP improvements, a crafting overhaul, and more. Gambit wasn’t mentioned anywhere, which makes about two people in total destiny 2 sad, but also without changes to anyone’s favorite mode, incidence of light rewrites almost every core aspect of the game.
