There are several tasks that need to be completed before you can even get the Top of Class quest from Eva Levante. These range from get medallions talking to characters in the Tower. However, nothing requires too much work.
- Talk to Eva Levante in the tower to continue the Top of Class quest. During this initial conversation, she gives the class an item to wear, which is required to collect a medallion.
- The next step is to complete one of the quests in one of the Guardian Games playlists and earn a medallion that you can bring back to Eva. Completing a quest or activity grants a medallion with the class item equipped.
- Go back to Eva with your locket and talk to her again to get the locket case, which allows you to carry more lockets.
- In the next step, chat with Zavala and Shaxx. They each award a quest, but neither is required to complete the best-in-class quest. It is enough to talk to them.
- Go back and talk to Eva again. This time, however, she rewards you with the Taraxxipos Scout Rifle. This also completes the best in class quest and opens the door to finally get the top of class quest from Eva.

Only two more steps are required to complete and receive this quest Heir Apparent Exotic Machine Gun.
- First, get another medallion of any type with the class item equipped. If you use Glimmer to buy Eva’s Contender and Platinum cards, you can increase the chances of getting more medallions.
- The next step of the quest is to shoot down 100 targets with a machine gun in any activity. After that, go back to Eva and talk to her again to complete the Top of the Class quest. She will reward you with the Heir Apparent Exotic Machine Gun.
