You will unlock a lot of additional content after you finish it Destiny 2 Lightfall Campaign. One of them is a quest chair for the Neomuna Archivist, who restores the servers containing the memories of five famous Cloud Striders. One of these, Maelstrom, has some of the least clear requirements and will likely be one of the longer quests to complete in the expansion. We will be covering all the details on how to complete the Maelstrom quest here.
How to complete the Maelstrom quest in destiny 2 incidence of light
There are four steps in the Maelstrom Quest in incidence of light, but only two require significant effort: the first two. You will spend at least an hour in the current Vex Incursion Zone, as this is the only place where you can find what you need to progress the quest.
Maelstrom Step 1
There are two tasks for this step.
Defend the Vex Incursion Zone
They will do patrols, public events, and terminal override activities, and if you can double them, do so.
- Patrols give 4% progress.
- Heroic public events 12%.
- Terminal overwrites 20%.
Doing multiple tasks at the same time will speed up the process significantly.

This task will take the longest. Green, glowing tangles of beach energy, the Beach Springs, appear in certain locations in the current Vex Incursion zone. They stay around for about a minute before disappearing. If you don’t find the current one in that time frame, you’ll have to wait at least five minutes or more for the next one to appear.
Beach springs are marked with a star icon on your HUD and you must interact with them like you did in the campaign to continue the quest. Unfortunately, they’ll sometimes be out of the way or spawn in the middle of heavy combat, especially during Terminal Overload activity. Grab ’em wherever you see ’em.
Maelstrom step 2
The easier of the two active tasks for the Maelstrom quest, you just need to complete the Lost Sector in the current Vex Incursion Zone. There is one per play area on Neomuna.
- Hydroponic Delta in the Zephyr Hall
- Gilded Bid in Ahimsa Park
- thrilladrome in Líming Park
Maelstrom step 3
Return to the Hall of Heroes and rebuild Maelstrom’s server.
Maelstrom Step 4
Return to Quinn Laghari, Neomuna City’s Archivist, for the next step: Bluejay.
Now you’ve completed one of the more arduous steps in the quest to earn the right to start another quest called Strider, which will award you with the Exotic Hard Glaive Winterbite Stasis. If Stasis is your thing, you’re going to want the Exotic.
That’s all you need to know to complete the Maelstrom quest. For more exotic quest guides like megaphone, Vex Mythoclast, Dead Messengerand others, check out our destiny 2 leads hub.
