How Overpower damage works in Diablo 4
diablo 4 Overpower Damage is not a standalone mechanic. Rather, it works in tandem with another function, albeit one used for survival: Strengthen.
Basically, Fortify acts like an overshield or pool of bonus HP. There are certain abilities and items that trigger the mechanic that takes some of your base/current HP and converts it into a buff value.
If the Boost value is higher than your current HP, you will get the buff buff which reduces damage taken by 10%.

So what is Overpower Damage then? In general, overpower is triggered or triggered by specific abilities. When Overpower occurs, you’ll see light blue floating damage numbers, with orange indicating critical hits.
How it is calculated there are a variety of factors. The most important of these is the sum of your fortified life and your basic life. For example, if you have 50 Fortify and 50 HP, Overpower’s bonus damage is 100.
