What does “This game is not ready to play” mean in Diablo 4?

The “This game isn’t ready to play yet” error message simply means exactly what it says on the tin. You can’t play them diablo 4 still open beta. It could also mean you’re trying to access the wrong thing on your console or via Battle.net (more on that below).

What causes the error “This game cannot be played yet”?

In most cases, the error occurs because the beta is simply not available yet. You’re trying to access it too soon. The open beta runs from March 24th to March 27th at the following times:

  • 12 p.m. EST
  • 4pm GMT
  • 5 p.m. CET
  • 3 a.m. (March 25) ACT

It’s also possible that you’re trying to install the wrong version of diablo 4. This most likely happens to PC gamers using Battle.net. Here’s what happened.

When you open Battle.net you will be asked if you want to play diablo 4 open beta. If you click on it, the diablo 4 Page appears (you can also access this page from the navigation bar at the top of the app).

You’ll see the “Install” button on the lower left part of the app, and if you’re like me, you click on it right away, only to get the message that you can’t play it yet.

Is there a fix for this game not playing yet?

For PC players on Battle.net you need to do the following:

  • Look for the game version bar above the install button.
  • This is probably discontinued Diablo 4 by default.
  • Click the down arrow on the right side of this bar.
  • Choose diablo 4-Beta (the game’s beta client).
  • The Install button turns blue
  • Click Install

After that, you’ll have to wait for around 80GB of download and installation, but you should be good to go. Unfortunately, you may encounter other errors along the way, such as: 315306, 316719, 300202or 300008.

For anyone else encountering the error message, the only option is to simply wait for the open beta to go live.
