Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree Announced For All Platforms

After much speculation and fan longing, FromSoftware has finally announced a new DLC for its mega hit fantasy RPG Elder Ring. Titled shadow of the earth tree, there is actually not much news about what this DLC will contain. A promotional image appears to show the Erdtree in the midst of growth, leading some to believe this will be a prequel campaign.

Interestingly, there is no release date or even release window for this expansion. A tweet about the officer Elder Ring Twitter merely states that this additional content is currently in development. It’s not typical of FromSoftware to announce DLC that isn’t at least somewhat advanced, so it seems a possibility shadow of the earth tree may appear in summer.

At least it’s nice that this DLC will be available for all platforms. It’s unclear how many people bought Elder Ring on PS4 and Xbox One, but it would be a shabby business move to leave those customers out in the cold. With free upgrades to the next-gen versions available, this DLC will likely only require a single purchase as well.

Aside from this upcoming expansion, the only major addition to it Elder Ring Post release was a Colosseum multiplayer add-on. It was included for free last December and added dedicated PvP arenas for players to battle in, similar to the original’s DLC Dark Souls receive. If past games are to continue, this expansion should prove to be quite large.
