Fallout 76‘s Snallygaster was born from failed experiments with the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). With sour saliva and a long tongue it can use like a whip, the Snallygaster is a ferocious creature of the Appalachian wasteland. For those hunting him, here’s the Snallygaster Fallout 76.
Fallout 76 Snallygaster location
While there’s one quest where you’re guaranteed to come across them, Snallygasters can be found in a few other locations on a regular basis as well. They are usually found in groups and are most commonly found in irradiated or toxic environments. You can always find them in the following two places:
- Toxic Larry’s Meat ‘n Go
- Between the Charleston Capital Building and the Hornwright Industrial Headquarters in Charleston

Snallygaster spawn points:
- Pylon V-13
- Federal elimination field HZ-21
- The flooded train yard on the edge of Cranberry Bog
- Kiddie corner booths
- treetop
- The crashed Vertibird behind Hemlock Holes
A Snallygaster is encountered in Vault 96 as part of the quest A Clear Conscience.
How to Kill a Snallygaster
There are a few different variations of the Snallygaster that roam the wasteland, but all are immune to radiation damage.
These monsters spit balls of acid that deal poison damage from afar, then run at you and claw or smack their tongues. A blow to the head deals 150% more damage than a blow to the body.
Snallygaster drops
Snallygasters usually drop:
- waste acid
- Snallygaster Hide
- raw asbestos.
Glowing Snallygasters can also drop Nuke, Glowing Blood, and Glowing Flesh.
There you will find Snallygasters, how to kill them and what they like to drop. If you need help with other mutant creatures or quests, check out our others Fallout 76 Leader.
