Unlock new characters in Genshin Impact is great, but honing their talents is just as satisfying. The Exhortation Book set of character talent materials is used by a handful of Sumeru characters, including the Traveler, when they resonate with the Dendro Element. What Characters Use Guides to Exhortation?
There are currently five characters that require the Guide to Exhortation material in order to level up their talents. These characters are as follows:
- candace
- cyno
- Faruzan
- Tighnari
- Traveler (Dendro)
It’s in your best interest to level up their talents when actively using any of these characters. Even if you are a F2P player, the Material Guide to Admonition will be helpful for Traveler (Dendro) and the free Faruzan that will be available in upcoming 3.6 update.
How to find exhortation guide in Genshin Impact

This talent material can only be acquired as a domain reward or through crafting, although this also ultimately returns to the same domain. First, let’s talk about how to earn it as a reward.
The guide to exhortation will be given on Steeple of the Ignorance Domain. This domain is located on the western side of the Lokapala Jungle area and more specifically near the Chatrakam Cave sub-area.

Depending on the day, different levels are offered on the domain. To unlock any of the materials from the Dunning Book group, you must challenge it Domain of Mastery: Full Moon set, which continues Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.
An adventure rank of 27 is required to access the starting level of the domain, but the first level is also the only one that doesn’t offer the material you’re looking for. You must have at least one Adventure Rank of 28 to play a level that can reward you with the exhortation guide.

Treat them like any other domain and make sure you’re properly leveled for it. Using the Dendro, Electro, Pyro, and Hydro elements is recommended, and there’s a ley line glitch that increases damage for various elemental DMGs, so bringing a diverse group would be a good idea.

As mentioned, the other method of acquiring this material is through crafting. The recipe for crafting Guide to Admonition is three lessons of exhortation.
As you can guess from the name, it is related material that is also offered by the same domain challenges. You can earn them at the same time and use your leftover Doctrine of Admonition to craft the Higher Guide to Admonition, but at the end of the day you’ll just have to grind that domain down a bit to earn them anymore.

Using this material is the easiest part. All you have to do is go into the character screen, switch to the one that needs the materials and click on the talent tab. Select the talent you want to improve and you can confirm that you want to use the materials to improve it.
