I am wondering how to complete the quest “Hook’s Gift”. Honkai StarRail? It’s one of more than a dozen companion quests that, upon completion, add its namesake as a possible guest on the Astral Express. Talking to your companions aboard the Express will give you Stellar Jade. The quests themselves are also some of the better storytelling moments in the game – not to mention being a great source of Trailblaze EXP and other materials.
Hook’s Gift Companion Quest Walkthrough
In order to access Hook’s Gift, you must have completed the previously accessed side mission The old foreman’s treasure. Then complete the Jarilo VI campaign and In the Dangerous Muddy Swamp Trailblaze mission. Shortly after, you will receive a text message giving you Hook’s gift.
The first step in finding Hook’s gift is to speak to the auction staff near the world trader in Boulder Town, who will mention an auction containing the Geomarry probe Fersman that was lost in his earlier mission.
Tell Hook about this development, talk to Natasha to get Junjun and his Erebus gem eyes, and finally make your way to the tramp camp in the robotic settlement. Talk to the auctioneer in the camp and make sure you boost Junjun’s price and your ability to raise the price.
Get as many bidders as possible to increase the value of Junjun. Initially there will be three NPCs you can talk to, but there are three more hidden buyers. They are:
Hidden buyer 1: The elderly woman and her grandchild
Talk to the Waiting Elders and they will worry about where their grandson is. Find him around the corner being bullied by two tramps. Defeat them and bring the child back to his grandmother.
Hidden Buyer 2: Gertie
Speak to the auction staff and they will mention that Gertie was looking for something like Junjun in Boulder Town. All you have to do here is go to her in the Underworld Goethe Grand Hotel and mention the auction.
Hidden Buyer 3: The Carefree Tramp
Near the camp is a vagabond in red pants who says he’s interested in buying Junjun, but has lost the means of payment – a commodity contract. You can find it by going behind the gate and under the camp.
Take the elevator down, go under the bridge and defeat the robot to get the quest. Once the carefree tramp gets his contract back, he will confirm that he plans to bid for Junjun.
After considering all the required and optional characters in Hook’s Gift, the only thing left is the auction itself. Or it would be, but after talking to the auctioneer there will be a “technical problem”. The auction staff admits that the Geomarrow Probe has been stolen and urges you to speak to the campers to find out where it may have gone.
How to find the Geomarrow probe
The naïve miner close to the careless tramp will say that the person she came to the auction with (the thief) has returned to Boulder Town, so do it yourself. The thief is hiding in an alcove across from the Natasha’s Clinic Space Anchor. Confront them, defeat them, then go back and end the auction. Make sure to always get the highest bid and the Geomarrow Probe is yours.
Hook’s gift final steps
The final steps of the Hook’s Gift quest are back in Boulder Town. Natasha and Hook are waiting at the doctor’s office where you can (or not) cover the auction. Hook then invites you both to her father’s birthday party. This leads to a touching cutscene, and when it ends, you’re done!
