What are light cones in Honkai Star Rail?
In lore, cones of light are sealed memories that can enhance characters. From a gameplay perspective, cones of light bear quite a resemblance to the way weapons are handled Genshin Impact.
The difference here is that light cones are more like equippable items. Their universal purpose is to provide stat buffs to characters during combat. However, when they match a character’s path, they also offer unique abilities.
This is how you get cones of light

Cones of Light are a fairly common reward in Honkai StarRail. You will be able to find many of them while exploring the world or completing quests.
Another way to get them is by using the Warp system. Whether you’re trying to get a specific one through the Light Con Event Warp or just scouting for characters, you’ll end up with quite a lot. How to use cone of light

Although they appear like simple equippables, they offer a bit more mechanical depth. Each character can have one cone of light equipped, which is possible on the character screen.
We strongly recommend that you choose one that matches your character’s path. This is the best way to take full advantage of what they have to offer.

You’re bound to find many different cones or duplicates as you progress. Using this are two improvement methods to increase performance.
Use level up
The first way is Llevel up, which can be done with special Aether Light Cone EXP materials or by consuming other Light Cones. This increases the effectiveness of their buffs.

Using overlays
The second option is overlay, which specifically requires a double cone of light. Instead of leveling up the buffs, this enhances the associated Light Cone ability.
As an example from my experience, the Amber Light Cone increases DEF by 16% and then increases it by another 16% when the user’s HP drops below half. A single Overlay Boost increases these stats to 20%.
