There are two choices for your main character in Honkai Starrailand you may be wondering if you should do that Choose Stelle or Caelus as your trailblazer. Here’s what you need to know about the containers and this early game pick, along with their combat types, paths, stats, and more.
Stella or Caelus: Which Should You Choose?
when you start Honkai Starrail, go through the tutorial as Kafka and Silver Wolf. Eventually, you’ll learn that none of the game’s main playable characters are when you’re asked to choose between two Receptacles, Stelle and Caelus.
You can only choose one, and when you do so you will be prompted to enter a chosen nickname/codename. This nickname replaces “A Nameless” with what you decide when Redeem codes on the HSR website. But should you choose one?
At the moment It doesn’t seem to matter if you choose Stelle or Caelus. It does not affect the plot or gameplay HSR. In fact, it ultimately comes down to whether you want to play a male or female character and which one you’re more comfortable with.
Keep in mind that you cannot switch between Stelle and Caelus later, so your decision is final unless you create an alternate account.
Stella vs. Caelus: Battle Types, Paths, and Starting Stats
Both Stelle and Caelus have the same combat types, paths, and starting stats, so it’s not about X vs Y or one character over the other in this regard. Again the decision of which main character to choose Honkai Starrail depends on how you want them to look.
Regardless of who you choose, these are the basic starting stats, battle types, and path types for both Stelle and Caelus.
- Battle Type: Physical — Physical attacks trigger weakness break, which can deal physical damage, physical damage over time (DoT), and bleed.
- Path Type: Destruction — This path deals outstanding damage and has great survivability. Well suited for various combat scenarios.

- Critical Hit Rate: 5.0%
- Critical Damage: 50%
- capabilities:
- Basic ATK: Farewell Hit (single target) — Deals Physical DMG equal to 50% of the Pathfinder’s ATK to a single enemy.
- Talent: Perfect Pickoff (Upgrade) — Each time after this character inflicts weakness break on an enemy, ATK increases by 10%. This effect stacks up to two times.
- Technique: Immortal Third Strike (Restoration) — Instantly heals all allies for 15% of their respective Max HP after using this technique.
- Skill: RIP Home Run (Blast) — Deals Physical DMG equal to 62% of the Trailblazer’s ATK to a single adjacent enemy. Costs 1 skill point.
- Ultimate: Stardust Ace (Upgrade) — Choose between two attacks.
- farewell hit hits a single target, dealing physical DMG equal to 300% of the Trailblazer’s ATK. Costs 120 energy.
- RIP home run Deal Physical DMG equal to 180% of the Trailblazer’s ATK to an enemy and 108% to adjacent enemies.
