Fireclaws are the heavy-hitting, high-health, bear-inspired machines Horizon forbidden west. They also have some resources that are exclusive to them, including the Fireclaw Sack webbing. Here’s where to find Fireclaws, how to get the Fireclaw Sac Webbing, and what it’s used for Horizon forbidden west.
Where to Find Fireclaws for Fireclaw Sac Webbing
There are two locations where you can easily find Fireclaws HFW. Both locations are a bit close together on the map, which makes farming easier.
- The easiest area to find is directly east of Thornmarsh.
- The second is a little southeast of the first location.
You’ll want to make sure you don’t run to the other side if you want to escape, as you’ll end up being followed by another Fireclaw.

How to save Fireclaw Sac Webbing
To rescue the Sac Webbing from a Fireclaw, you must Kill it without setting it on fire or piercing the Blaze unit on his chest.
The best tools for this are Sharpshot bows with crossed arrows. These arrows will not pierce the Blaze Unit and set the Fireclaw on fire. With a range of abilities that allow him to keep the heat up, you’ll want to stay as far away and as hidden as possible, hence Sharpshot Bows’ choice.
Possible Sharpshot sheets to use:
- Penetrating sniper bow
- Delta Sniper Bow
- Regalla’s wrath
- Gravesinger’s Lament
- Blacktide Sniper Bow (Burning Shores DLC pre-order bonus)
If you have them Burning Shores DLC and have completed, you can use the improved Railgun mode for the Specter Gauntlet. The Railgun projectile does the same thing as the Strikethrough Arrows: they go right through enemies. However, if you overload the Specter Gauntlet, it will overheat and be unable to fire for a short time.
Once the Fireclaw is dead, loot its body to get the Sac Webbing.

Once you have Sac Webbing in your inventory, head to a workshop to apply any upgrades you want.
Outfit upgrades
All of the following outfit upgrades are level 4 and require Fireclaw Sac Webbing x2.
- Emperor Stalker Elite
- Oseram Constructor
- Tenakth Tactician
- Utaru winter fabric
weapon upgrades
There are a variety of weapons that require Fireclaw Sac Webbing x2 for their level 4 upgrades. Only the Ancestral Ruins have different requirements.

If you get the Fireclaw Sac Webbing for the overwriteyou need to collect two of them before going to the base and using the crafting terminal.
