Since it’s located in the Zaqali Caldera, you’ll need to learn how to find and open the Well-Chewed Chest World of Warcraft: Dragonflight with limited kite riding. Even though the chest is locked, getting the key isn’t too difficult.
How to open the well-chewed chest in WoW: Dragonflight
The Well Chewed Chest is hidden in a cave in Zaqali Caldera at coordinates (X:30, Y:40). In this cave you can also find a Massive Corebeast, which is very useful for all this, since you have to kill the Massive Corebeast to get the Searing Key to open the chest.
I’ve had some bad luck with this, so keep in mind that this encounter can be a bit volatile. The Massive Corebeast must have been killed just before I got to the cave and I had to wait a while before it reappeared. Since this is a rare elite unit, you might want to bring friends to help you defeat them. There also appear to be multiple spawn points, all within the Zaqali Caldera.
However, you don’t have to be involved in killing the Massive Corebeast to get the key. It’s on the ground under the beast and near his head. I wasn’t aware of this at first and I spent way more time than I needed opening this chest. This is where the long respawn timer can come in handy, as you can run in, grab the key, open the chest, and exit long before she returns if she’s already dead.
Eventually, I was able to open the well-chewed chest to get six Whelplings Shadowflame Crest Fragments and a few other goodies.
And that’s all it takes to open the well-chewed chest. This chest is convenient to grab when grabbing the Zaqali Caldera Dragon Riding Glyph, as the cave is in the glyph’s path when you hug the right wall.
