Bruce Lee’s Tao is strong with Tekken 8s latest trailer. Returning veteran Marshall Law just got a gameplay trailer and looks heavier than ever. While not much has changed in terms of his moveset, Law is practically three times his size tekke 7.
That needs to be said again Tekken 8 looks very impressive visually. The move to Unreal Engine 5 seems to have paid off for the creative team, as they have the technology to exaggerate these larger than life characters. It really sells the intensity of their fighting skills even more than the series’ past.
What I like here is Law’s critical art. There’s a lot of Bruce Lee references scattered throughout, including the deathblow Lee gives Bob Wall in it Enter the dragon. It’s just amazing that Lee’s impact on popular culture is still being felt 50 years after his death.
Tekken 8 is slated for a 2024 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. We still have no word on whether it will include rollback netcode or crossplay support. But that should be the case.
