Metroid Prime Remastered Available Digitally After Recent Direct

Nintendo certainly had a lot of surprises up its sleeve for its latest Direct. After years of industry experts saying it existed, Metroid Prime Remastered was revealed to be real. In another twist that few likely saw coming, the remaster will indeed be available digitally after the Direct.

For those who would rather opt for a physical version, Metroid Prime releases February 22, 2023 with an MSRP of $59.99. While there’s no special edition, it means those who’d rather not swear allegiance to our digital overlords will soon be able to get their hands on a copy.

One of the biggest changes for Metroid Prime Remastered is a brand new dual analog stick control method. Similar to modern first-person games, you can play Metroid Prime in a style that has become standardized in the 21 years since the original was released. If you’d rather have the original GameCube control method, that’s an option too.

What is rather confusing is the lack of Metroid Prime 2 And 3. Nintendo may be trying to recoup some lost profits by releasing the sequels one at a time, but it’s really an odd move now that the Wii has come Metroid Prime Trilogy. Until we know for sure how extensive this remaster of is Prime We can’t say why the two sequels were left out.
