To kick off the Nintendo Direct in style, Nintendo gave us a brand new trailer for Pikmin 4. The biggest announcement, showcasing more direct gameplay and a glimpse of a creepy nocturnal grubdog, was a release date. You will be able to push your way through Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as Pikmin 4 will not be launched until July 2023.
The latest addition to the Pikmin Roster is that of an Ice Pikmin. As you’d expect, they can freeze bodies of water and enemies if thrown into them. A cute little dog thing named Oatchi will also help you on your travels, possibly working as both a worker and a fighter.
As far as gameplay goes, this seems consistent with both Pikmin 2 And 3. There will be no overbearing timer preventing you from making progress or turning losing battles into a desperate struggle for survival. Curiously, there is no mention of a cooperative mode, which has been standard since the second part of the series. The trailer ends with a hint that other travelers will be joining you, so there’s a chance of collaboration down the line.
Smartly avoid competing against yourself, Pikmin 4 will be launched on July 21, 2023. That’s just a few months after the release date of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. That makes perfect sense as if Pikmin And zelda Fans don’t really switch, Nintendo knows everyone and their mom will be dying for more Hyrule.
Interesting, Pikmin 4 is listed despite $59.99 zelda increasing the price tag. This could indicate that Nintendo’s increased prices are situational.
