Niantic has announced that the famous Pokemon Master Ball, known to catch even the most powerful Pokemon, will be released in the year Pokemon GO. Just like in the Pokémon games, the Master Ball will be a rare item – but it’s worth the effort. The Master Ball will be available on May 22 as part of the final Rising Heroes story. The special research required for this begins on June 1st.
Willow will return, but it’s unclear if this will finally give us the last two quests from Willow’s research, or if it’s a new special research quest. Anyway, Willow will update us on the current status of Team GO Rocket. Completing this special research will grant you a single Master Ball.
Master Ball retains its ability to catch any Pokémon it catches, whether it’s a wild Pokémon or a Pokémon defeated in a raid. The only additional details we know of for earning multiple Master Balls is that there are even more chances to earn them.
It’s safe to say that the Master Ball won’t be in stores anytime soon, if at all. It appears that the rarity persists, making the decision on which Pokemon to use it on a little harder. I know I’m going to have a hard time timing the Master Ball.
