With red falls release In just over a month, Bethesda is preparing fans for their journey to the game’s eponymous village with a brand new story trailer. This trailer doesn’t reveal much new information, but it’s a solid introduction for those who haven’t been following all the ins and outs of developer Arkane’s latest open-world title.
To provide a quick synopsis, this trailer specifically dives into the history surrounding Aevum Therapeutics and the insidious experiments it has been conducting. Set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts, you team up and explore the ruins of the once prosperous little island town to learn the truth behind the recent outbreak of supernatural forces.
To learn more about the game’s story, members of the Arkane team spoke to IGN about some of the key takeaways. We reported about it here.
There’s also a decent look at the gameplay here, which features the signature Arkane style that fans have come to expect. The gunplay looks as satisfying as ever, and the creature designs are all creative and colorful.
The only real point of contention lies with red falls always online requirement, which puts a big damper on single player exploration. It was probably implemented to keep things cooperative on the fly, but it could spell trouble in the future. We just have to see.
redfall will be released on May 2, 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available on the first day of Game Pass.
