The economy of Resident Evil 4 Remake is a fickle thing. If you don’t explore many of the nooks and crannies off the beaten path, you may find yourself struggling for cash on upgrades and other necessities until at least halfway through a playthrough. The advanced treasure map can alleviate these burdens, however, but don’t expect to get it cheaply, nor do you find it easy to use.
Where to get Advanced Treasure Map in RE4 Remake
Unfortunately, there are only two ways to get the Expanded Treasure Map.
- You can either buy it directly for $3.99 from a store of your choice
- Get it as part of the RE4 reissue‘s Digital Deluxe Edition.

How to use the advanced treasure map

If you choose to shell out the real money for it, the Expanded Treasure Map contents will automatically be added to your default in-game map. Expanded Treasures appear as diamond symbols with a yellow plus sign.
When you reach the location of an expanded treasure, you have to search hanging gilded cages, which you can attack with either a knife or a weapon. This causes them to fall, leaving their prey on the ground.

What you get from Expanded Treasure varies. It’s always some form of currency or valuables. Many of them offer gems and other sellable items, but you might also come across the rare Spinel gems, which you can use to buy limited items from the merchant.
We only recommend using the enhanced card if you’re constantly struggling to keep your pockets full of cash. Selling jewels, valuable treasures inlaid with gems, and other items should provide enough to make ends meet, but if you’re having money troubles, the expanded treasures can be an excellent source of additional funding.
