Resident Evil 4 Remake has over a dozen weapons for you to try out while destroying countless enemies. Still, there are a few sidearms you might be wondering about. The SG-09 R is available by default and the Sentinel Nine is DLC. But what you really want to know is which is better. Here is the answer.
Sentinel Nine versus SG-09 – Which Pistol is Better?
The Resident Evil 4 Remake SG-09 R is the default pistol that Leon will have access to at the start of the campaign. It will serve you well throughout your run as there is plenty of pistol ammo to find. It has the following base stats:
- Performance: 1.0; becomes 2.0 at level 5.
- ammo capacity: 10; turns 18 at level 5.
- reload speed: 1.0; becomes 1.4 at level 5.
- fire rate: 1.0; becomes 1.52 at level 5.
- Exclusive benefit: 5x critical hit rate; unlocked by purchasing all upgrades or using an exclusive upgrade ticket from the retailer.
- Possible attachment: Laser sight.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake Sentinel Nine, on the other hand, is a DLC weapon. It’s available if you own this RE4 reissue Deluxe Edition or if you purchase Sentinel Nine as a standalone DLC. It has the following base stats:
- Performance: 1.1; becomes 1.9 at level 5.
- ammo capacity: 19; becomes 31 at level 5.
- reload speed: 0.9; becomes 1.3 at level 5.
- fire rate: 1.19; becomes 2.0 at level 5.
- Exclusive benefit: 5x critical hit rate; unlocked by purchasing all upgrades or using an exclusive upgrade ticket from the retailer.
- Possible attachment: Laser sight.

So which weapon is better to use, the SG-09 R or the Sentinel 9? The clear winner between the SG-09 R and Sentinel Nine Resident Evil 4 Remake Is the guard 9.
Although the two pistols share the same exclusive perks and possible attachments, and most stats are nearly identical, the Sentinel Nine trumps its counterpart by having more ammo in a clip.
If you like having extra bullets to spare before reloading, especially in frantic firefights, then this is the option you want. However, you will have to spend some extra money since it is a DLC weapon.
