Sherlock Holmes the Awakened is a true Lovecraftian adventure packed with eerie horrors to excite the mystery game fanatic. The game promises puzzling car chases and a truly terrified Sherlock Holmes who has found his match. The Awakened will be released on April 11, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
The game is a reinterpretation of the original 2008 game, rebuilt from the ground up using new technology in the Unreal Engine. Developer Frogwares has released a new trailer showing why this game deserves a revival.
The trailer begins with Sherlock Holmes saying, “There is nothing in this world that cannot be explained by logic and reason,” a foreshadowing of the challenges ahead. The trailer shows a dark and haunting world set in 1882, giving you a little glimpse into the otherworldly Cthulhu mythos that you’ll spend your time investigating.
During your playtime, you can expect to explore different environments, from classic Baker Street in London to psychiatric hospitals in Switzerland, there will surely be a detective adventure underway. You’ll discover how the infamous duo Sherlock and John Watson came to be and seek answers to haunting questions.
