What is included in the Dredge Blackstone Key DLC?
Blackstone Island workshop items
The Blackstone Key DLC gives you access to the Blackstone Isle Workshop. If you have the DLC, you can enter the workshop when you visit the island for the first time. Inside you will discover two items: The Arterial Engine and the Sign of Ruin.

The Arterial Motor is basically a giant heart with motorized wings that beats in rhythm with your character’s heart. Installation takes an hour and is ready to use. However, it only goes at 7.4 knots, which is slower than any other engine in the game.
The mark of doom is the real star of the Blackstone Key DLC. This carved stone item will be installed in a bar square in your cargo. The description of the Sign of Ruin says, “It is sure to draw the attention of those attuned to it.”
When equipped, it increases your rate by Catch deviant fish. It is also believed that it could increase attacks by deep-sea creatures on your ship during the night, but this has not been confirmed.
Should You Buy the Blackstone Key DLC? answered
The Blackstone Key DLC for Dredge only affects the game by increasing how often you could Catch aberrant fish – and by proxy, possibly to earn more money get rich fast. Otherwise, you won’t get access to new stories or prompt new dialogue.
The Blackstone Key DLC can make the game a more enjoyable experience by giving you access to more resources to fully explore all the options available, but it’s not necessary.
