The flashlight is conspicuously absent when you start sons of the forest. You have an emergency kit, a lighter, and several other essential survival gears, but you’ll need to find the flashlight’s location elsewhere.
Aside from the obvious benefit of pinpoint light (as opposed to the simple glow of a flashlight), the flashlight is an important piece of equipment. You can also wield and wield weapons like the axe, spear, and even the bow while using them.
Where can I find the location of the flashlight?

The location of the flashlight can be found southeast of the helicopter crash site on the mountain, the one where you start the game. Go into your GPS map tracker and go to the next purple exclamation point on the map, which is in the forest just below the mountain.
With the helicopter at your back and a view of the creek nearby, follow the creek to the left (east) and down the mountain. Stay left when it forks and you’ll eventually come to a pool of water with three bodies on stilts (where you’ll find the slingshot). There is a cliff with a cave nearby. Walk over the cliff and cave to the larger river nearby. Cross the river towards the purple map marker.
Keep your GPS map pulled up and Listen for the ping noise it emits. As you approach a purple map marker, the ping will become louder and more frequent, alerting you to nearby important items.
At the GPS map marker, you’ll find a rope, a bottle of vodka, and a few other items. At the edge of the cliff near these items is a rock with a rope tied around it. These articles shine respawn infinitely like some othersso come back to pick them up when needed.
Use your ax to chop the rope, dropping the body of a dead countryman underneath. Climb the cliffs and inspect his body to get the flashlight and a placeable map marker.
How to equip the flashlight
To equip the flashlight sons of the forest, open your inventory by pressing the “I” key. You’ll find it next to your ax and lighter on the right. Once you’ve equipped it, you can drag it up and put it down Press the “L” key.. At this stage of Early Access, The flashlight is always on when you pull it up.
How to charge the flashlight
Since the tool is always on when you’ve pulled it up, it also means it’s always losing power as you use it. To charge it you have to Combine the flashlight with batteries in your inventory screen, the same screen you use for on-site crafting.
You can find batteries in many places, but most often you’ll come across them in scattered crates or in formerly inhabited areas with tents or other dwellings.
