Nintendo has announced that the first wave of turn 3 DLC titled Return to Inkopolis will be available for download on February 28, 2023. A trip back to the city where it all began, this first pack doesn’t appear to feature a new campaign mode, but rather a different lobby for players to roam around in. It will also see the return of eponymous squid sisters Callie and Marie.

Included in the turn 3 expansion pass, not much else is known about what will be included in this first batch of DLC. While an early incentive from Nintendo grants players additional in-game currency and Meal/Drink Cards, which hardly counts as new content. It’s easy to assume that additional weapons and multiplayer maps will be part of the Inkopolis expansion.
The biggest change to the Inkopolis hub is that Callie and Marie are taking over all the Splatfests that Nintendo throws. You can jump freely between Inkopolis and Splatoon 3 Splatsville, it’s likely the original duo will see a third companion for the new third-team option.
Whatever happens, turn 3 will receive a much larger expansion titled Side Order later this year. It’s more of a reminder Splatoon 2’s Octo expansion DLC. It seems to focus on members Pearl and Marina after completing Hook the Hook splatoon 2 final splatfest.
