The main attraction here is the introduction of Amatsu to the monster roster. Originally created for Monster Hunter Portable 3Amatsu seems to be the last monster to be blamed for this Rises Bad luck. You can catch a glimpse of it in the trailer, but Capcom’s official description says Amatsu is known as “Looming Calamity.”
The second new monster is a variant of Shagaru Magala known as Risen Shagaru Magala. The biggest difference from its regular variant is that Risen Shagaru is not affected by Qurio, allowing them better control when poisoning players. They’re also said to be a lot stronger, so this is sure to be a solid test for players.
The rest of the update introduces new levels for the anomaly research quest, which can now be reached up to level 300. You can also conduct Special Investigations once you’ve maxed out an Anomaly research quest, although the reward for completing it is just a Heroes’ Badge, which can be placed on your title card. Finally, there will be a plethora of paid DLC in the form of new decals, hairstyles, and layered armor pieces.
This will not be the last update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, However. While Title Update Five will wrap up the game’s story, a bonus update is coming in June and brings the final monster expansion to the game. Capcom is also teasing some new +4 level gems.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Switch. Title Update 5 will be available on April 20, 2023.
