How to solve the Kiuyoyou shrine puzzle in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Location of Kiuyoyou Shrine
This shrine is further north of Hyrule Field or west of the Great Hyrule Forest. We recommend following the directions and heading north-west to the Hebra region. Then, once past the New Serenne Stable, follow the road all the way north to reach the shrine.
Mystery #1
Once you enter that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom At Kiuyoyou Shrine, you’ll notice a device that emits flames on the right and a large ice cube on the left. For this part you have to use Ultrahand to place the cube near the flames for a second to shrink it.
If you take too long, the cube will melt completely. But if it’s just the right size, it should fit in the little corner to your left. Put it down and the switch will activate, giving you access to the next area.
Riddle #2
In this large room you will notice a wind current carrying you over the abyss. There’s another flame-spitting device to your left, and an ice cube will automatically fall down to then melt. What you may notice, however, is the stone slab to your right.
The idea here is to grab the stone slab and position it vertically to block the fire. This allows the ice cube to fall without melting. Note that if you see that the ice cube has stopped falling, it may be because it has only partially melted and has not completely disappeared. We recommend checking the flame jet spot if it’s still there to make it reappear.
Let’s definitely continue Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Kiuyoyou Shrine Puzzle. Go ahead and get out the big ice cube. Then attach it to the stone slab. You can then slide this contraption along the spikes. The link can slide back to the previous section. If you want to bring the chest to the right, you can slide the ice cube on the edge. Finally, bring the ice cube and plate combination back to the first area. Make sure the plate is facing up so it blocks the flame jets. Then drop it over the bottom plate to activate it.
