The Tekken 8 The Hwoarang trailer has just come out, revealing another character returning to the King of Iron Fist tournament. Hwaorang first appeared in Tekken 3and has appeared in all of them Tekken game since. Fans of the taekwondo fighter will surely be happy to see his return.
Hwaorang is known as “Bloodclaw”. He is arrogant, impulsive, and dislikes authority figures, although he has great respect for his longtime master, Baek Doo San. Despite his impressive fighting skills, Hwaorang struggles to find meaning in his daily life. He has a long-standing rivalry with the show’s figurehead Jin Kazama, and their fights are something of a series legend. We get a glimpse of it in the new trailer.
Based on taekwondo, Hwaorang’s fighting style combines powerful, quick kicks with a series of throws to constantly pressure his opponents. Hwaorang isn’t traditionally strong on defense, so he prefers a rushdown style that pushes his opponent into the background. He also usually has access to multiple stances, which can make him more difficult to learn for new players.
Of course, Hwaorang also demonstrates his motorcycling skills in the trailer.
Hwaorang’s Rage Art is a series of flashy kicks. He begins by slamming his opponent to the ground, then throws them high into the air before sending them back down to earth with a powerful heel to the back of the head.
Hwaorang joins what appears to be a fairly large roster. We also saw trailers Lili, Leroy, asukaand returning favorites like Jack-8 And Lingxiaoyu.
Tekken 8 will be released in 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Stay tuned for more trailers featuring new characters and gameplay changes as release approaches.
