Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty — Weapon Upgrade Guide

Although it is not nioh game in name, Wo Long: The Fallen Dynasty clearly follows the Souls-like approach to the hard-hitting action games that Team Ninja has been fond of of late. In doing so, it follows some of the same established RPG structures you may be familiar with Dark Souls or nioh. One such system is how weapon upgrades work Where to go.

How to upgrade your weapons in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

To upgrade your weapons Wo Long: The Fallen Dynasty You need two resources. First, you need a certain amount of Copper, the game’s currency, which you get for numerous tasks – but mostly it drops from enemies. In our experience, we rolled in copper early in the game, so this shouldn’t be a problem. What you need to get your hands on is steel of the appropriate rank in order to level up your weapon of choice.

In Soul-like fashion, you need upgrade materials of an appropriate rank to upgrade them. However inside Where to go everything is pretty easy. Steel is the only upgrade material. And regardless of which rank you upgrade to, you only need 3 corresponding steel pieces to do so.

For example, upgrading a weapon to its base rank of +1 requires 3 Steel at rank 1, and upgrading a level from +8 to +9 requires 3 Steel at rank 9.

You can only upgrade your weapons with the game’s lone blacksmith, Zhu Xia. During the early missions (parts 1 and 2 of the game) she will appear in missions to help you at certain points. But once you unlock the Hidden Village Hub area, she will move there. After a certain point, she will open her own shop, which can be found on the branch path to the right of where you spawn on the way back to the hidden village.

How to find weapon upgrade materials

While you can always check what a reward is for a specific level Where to go, You can find many of the best upgrade materials by thoroughly searching your surroundings.

A good rule of thumb is that if, for example, a level says it will reward you with Rank 2 Steel, you know there is a wealth of that upgrade stuff to be found there. However, it’s likely that a small number of Rank 3 Steel Drops are also hiding there – either as a reward for defeating a strong enemy or spotting a tricky flag.
