Old Trunk Treasure is one of the new additions to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight in Patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion. While there’s a ton of new things to do – a new faction, a new raid, and a new zone – there’s also more loot to find. To know how to open the treasure of the ancient chest, it is not enough just to walk up to it and open the lid. Here’s what you need to do.
To open the ancient treasure, you must first find it in one Stone Cart in Glimmeroggis in the southernmost part of Zaralek Cave.
How to open the old chest treasure in WoW: Dragonflight
Unfortunately the chest is locked. To open it you need a key held by an absolutely adorable Thieving Rock Mouse. The mouse will run and hide in a total of five locations as you track it down. Here are his hiding places.

You will first find the mouse to the right of the wagon in the purple bush.

After finding him here, our shy little friend will run away. Follow him up the path behind you and find him at the top right of the path hiding in a small basket to the right of a large stone door. Click on him again and he will run away again.

Follow him down the path to the right. There you will see a couple of nephews and a Strongarm sitting around a stone table. You will find the mouse hiding behind the stone table. Click on him again and he will run away again. Curse you, you adorable thieving mouse!

Follow him along the path. You’ll see another stone cart full of mushrooms and straw almost directly opposite the stone cart containing the Old Trunk’s treasure. Our thief is hiding here.

To find our thieving mouse this time you have to climb a bit. The mouse ran up the southernmost tower and parked on one of the balconies. Follow him up there. Once you catch him, he will finally give you the old suitcase key. Take your shiny new key to the old trunk and you can finally open it.
