The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Stalnox is a kind of mini-boss that you sometimes encounter when exploring the world. This skeletal behemoth is the bony corpse of a Hinox revived to put an end to you. Our guide tells you how to beat a Stalnox boss Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to defeat a Stalnox in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
One of the few times you will come across one DeadK Stalnox is during your trek through the Royal Hidden Passage. When you reach the underground lake, you’ll see a pile of boulders suspiciously scattered in the middle of a field. Destroying them, such as with bomb flowers or blunt weapons, will reveal the remains of the Stalnox. In just a few seconds, it will revive and come after you.
There are also other Stalnox locations, such as Skull Lake Cave, that you can get to one of the armor pieces of the Fierce Deity. Regardless, the Royal Hidden Passage Stalnox boss fight is a good tutorial for fighting others. I’ve found that while locations may change, the tactics for defeating Stalnox remain the same.

TotK Stalnox weaknesses and attacks
To hit one Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Stalnox, I suggest treating it similar to a Hinox. His weak point is therefore his eye. A single arrow shot to the eye is enough to stun it. While it’s on the ground, you can howl with your melee weapons.
However, you still need to be wary of attacks such as:
- Roly-poly crash where it bounces and hits the ground.
- Rib Ripper, where it throws one of its ribs at you.

TotK Stalnox Boss Strategies
Once the Stalnox’s HP drops below 40%, it will start covering its eye periodically. This means that you cannot aim for longer periods. You should fire your shot exactly when the opportunity presents itself. Additionally, it doesn’t actually die just yet after fully depleting its HP.
Instead, his eye rolls on the floor. Sprint there immediately so you can keep attacking him with your melee weapon.
You probably won’t be able to do a lot of damage in a single stage. Believe me, I was having a hard time just a few hours into the campaign. However, the process remains the same: Shoot its eye to make it fall to the ground, then keep attacking it.
Stalnox Rewards
Once you’ve defeated a DeadK Stalnox: You may get some Stalnox materials and even some Hinox related materials. However, when you fight this opponent in Royal Hidden Passage, the main reward here is the variety of melee weapons that you can equip and combine.
